A week off to prepare for school

OK only one day left in July which means that I have approximately twenty-five days left to finish potty training the kid. The 25th is the first day of school for the Head Start and there is no transportation provided this year. This is going to make for a fun school year. Monday morning I’ll begin to get up at 5a.m. in order to get used to it in time to get the kiddo to school by 7:45. It’s really hard to believe that the summer is almost over and we’ve done very little.

I still haven’t purchased the new uniforms that she’s going to need. I have to go on a treasure hunt for them and I’m really hoping that they’ll be some available small enough during the tax free weekend. That’ll save us a little bit of money even if I only get her two or three. I am currently working on everything possible to come up with the money to get her two complete outfits because at the moment I can only get partial outfits.

We’re trying the schedule for the potty and I’m leaving her there as long as she’ll stay. It seems that typically the longer she stays on the potty the more likely she is to use the potty. We’ve made amazing progress this summer and I need to step up the game and finish it up. The fact that she has the ability to tell you she has to go to the bathroom is a good thing, bringing that ability out is something else.

Right now there is recycling on my front porch that needs to be loaded up and hauled to the bins. I think that I’ll do that when we go on the treasure hunt for uniforms. I found the data sheets for potty training in my desk drawer and the last time I had used them was back in mid-June which isn’t that good. There could be two reasons they hadn’t been used in so long. The first is that she was having too many accidents to count. The second is that I was too busy working and no one else would do the data for me. At the moment I’m relying on a time to tell me how often to take her to the potty. I’m going to go with every thirty minutes now that she has drinks in her.

I’m going to increase the time between trips now that the diarrhea she had last week has hopefully past. Too much detail I know.

OK I have to get back to work and I have some pictures to put on disk so I’ll be going I’m hoping to put the pictures on disks while I go through her clothes I have to separate my photos into smaller albums so that I know what I have saved and not saved or I may save them all online and take them to disk later.

Back to School Preparations

It’s almost time for yet another school year. August 15th Dothan City Schools are back in session the 29th of August the preschool is back in session. Tomorrow we have an interview for the Head Start facility. This is going to be interesting. Theresa still won’t finish potty training and I think that it’s actually because of the summer and being out of routine. Slowly but surely we’re working on getting her back into her routine.

I however am not looking forward to getting up at five in the morning in order to have her up between six and six thirty so she’s ready for the school bus. I really am not looking forward to having to pack up my computer every Wednesday afternoon to get her from school and take her to therapy. I have no choice but to start working during therapy sessions if I’m going to continue to stay afloat.

Next month means new school uniforms for the child as well. I want to move out of Dothan not only because I hate it here but because the school boards policy for uniforms causes a financial burden on my family. It’d be nice if the ones making the rules had to pay the bills for the rules they set.

Well, I’m off to work now that’s my morning whine and I think I’ll go get some cheese to go with it.

Worried About Expenses

It’s not my immediate expenses that I’m worried about but the ones that I have coming up in just a couple of months because I have no idea how to cover them. August starts in another week and the tag on my truck is due, the front of the car is shaking something awful. I have to get that fixed and the front of the truck well that I’m told is my imagination so I really need to start driving it again.

When I drive the truck I can make a tank of gas last a month just going to therapy and back. That’s pretty good considering it only gets fifteen miles to the gallon. The big problem is that my light bill is consistently over the amount set for budget billing. Right now I’m looking at having a $200 overage. That means I’ll have approximately a $300 to $400 bill at least the month the overage plus the actual bill is due. I’m going to do.

At the moment I have $6 to make it until the end of the month and I wouldn’t have that if I hadn’t put some things on hold. Well, I’ll be going I can’t earn any money to help me out of this bind if I don’t get to work. Today I have to take our house guest to meet her mother so she can go home and Theresa has two therapy sessions that are an hour apart so I may just take my computer so that I can work while we’re there.

friday…………………and not much to say

Thursday we didn’t have therapy because our speech therapist was out of the office today. Theresa didn’t noticed yet since she’s caught up in her V-Reader at the moment. She’s took the time to enjoy her day off.
Lately Theresa has taken to hitting people in the face. I’m not sure why she’s doing it all the time but at times the reason is clear. She does not like people touching her things. I can’t say much about that because I don’t particularly care for it either. I’m not sure why but I’ve always found it rude when people look through people’s things without asking them first.
I was exhausted and would have loved to lie down to take a nap but I couldn’t. I managed to finish two articles yesterday morning and that was it. I managed to get my hub in the newsletter for hubpages and that’s a good thing. The traffic to that particular hub is rising and now I just have to figure out how to finish the hub that I am currently working on and find a subject for the next one.
We have speech this morning at 11:30 which is good for Theresa and good for me too. I have to stop and get laundry detergent and creamer for my coffee. I have another payout to request but I want to wait until it’s a bit higher before I do.
Oh well something tells me it’s going to be a long weekend since I cut the cable off and I have to work. There is going to be a bored child. I’ve got a big yard that unless I go cut the grass doesn’t do her any good. I’ve got my Internet that I have to use to make a living and some books that she doesn’t like to read. Wonder if I should have waited to turn off the cable especially since the channels are out in the living room at the moment. I’d love to have the antenna put back up since I’m missing channel twelve at the moment with the indoor not being strong enough.
Really need to move so I’m saving every bit of change for emergencies and attempting to get by until I can find something I like within my budget. It has to take pets because I can not get rid of my two cats. I also need to make sure I have boxed up and donated everything here that I do not need, use or want anymore so that someone that will appreciate it has it.

Preparing for Guests Early

OK I’ll have at least one guest sooner than I originally planned and that’s alright. I know that we have things to get done but Theresa needs social interaction very badly and the guest that I have coming adores her. She’s a good kid too, actually polite which is rare with kids these days.

I have been going over finances and I have come to the conclusion that I have to take out a loan which isn’t surprising. The highlight of my week was a nomination for  this hubpage as a hubnugget. That means it’s good, and I’m proud of it. I have no idea when the results come in but I’ll be glad when they do.

I’m thinking about a title loan to get through the end of this month which will make next month harder to get through and mean that I have to do more work than I would but it’ll be worth.

Broke as broke can be

Well, today is payday which would normally make me happy but not today. It’s already gone before I even get it and I can’t seem to make enough to make up for anything that I might have to spend. I’ve still got bills to pay this month and while I have the money to cover them I don’t have money for anything else. I’ll be starting next month in debt.

I owe $25 for babysitting which was for four hours while I ran errands thinking it would make it faster. Then I’ll have to repay the money I’m going to have to borrow in order to make it until the end of the month. Next month we go back to school which means it’s time to find more school clothes or at least a new pair of shoes for the little one. She’ll be happy to ride to school with her friends once again. One day a week I have to go pick her up from school to get her to therapy on time but that’s only one day and it won’t be too hard on the budget.

I’m thinking of transferring money from my savings account to checking and leaving just enough to keep it open in the account so I can make it until I get my loan. I can always put it back later. At least that’s what I like to tell myself.

Time to Cut the Grass

Actually it’s past time to cut the grass but the heat and the rain won’t cooperate to get it cut. While we got a short light shower today the local weather man just said that it’s moving toward the sea which means the rains that develop will last a bit longer. The bad news is that it’s supposed to get hotter and the humidity will be bad. Tomorrow is supposed to be 97 degrees and the heat indexes this week are supposed to make it feel like 107. That means I have to be extra careful while I’m cutting the grass. I also get to watch gas prices for the best times to buy gas for the car and the lawnmower.

According to news reports tonight gas is supposed to go back up to $4 a gallon. That means I have to get some things in my yard that can be taken care of to cut down on the amount of grass to cut and provide us with a little bit of food.

Well, it’s not raining at the moment and I have yard work to do before it gets dark. I have a lot to do in order to prepare for the kids at the first of next month and this is only half of it. I still have to figure out how to get my work done while they are here without staying up all night to get it done.
